Myrtle & Rowan Road Improvements
Coming Spring 2027: Myrtle & Rowan Road Improvements
Stay up to date on project timelines, construction plans, and what to expect as paving gets underway in Spring 2027.
The Northeast Public Development Authority (NEPDA) is managing the paving of Myrtle Street from Wellesley Avenue to Rowan Avenue, and Rowan Avenue from Myrtle Street to Sycamore Street. The paving project will begin construction in Spring 2027 and will move forward in phases as funding allows.
The first phase will begin in Spring 2027, prioritizing paving from Myrtle and Wellesley moving north as funding allows. While the full project area is being designed and permitted now, construction on additional sections, including Rowan Avenue, will depend on future funding and may take place in later years. A total of 37 properties are located within the overall project area.
The project is funded by the Washington State Department of Ecology through NEPDA, using a Clean Air grant to pave what is now a gravel road. These Clean Air grants are used to fund projects that reduce the amount of particulate matter – aka dust – in the air.
Live or Work on Myrtle or Rowan? Here’s What to Expect:
On Myrtle Street? Paving is expected to kick off in Spring 2027, starting from Myrtle and Wellesley moving north as funding allows. Additional improvements will happen as funding becomes available.
On Rowan Avenue? You’re part of the bigger plan! While paving isn’t funded or scheduled just yet, we’re getting the designs ready now so we can move forward when additional funding comes through.
